Obituary – Gentleman George
It is with great sadness that we have had to farewell our wonderful stallion Gentleman George. Our boy was an impressive 16.3HH Clydesdale/Thoroughbred x who spent his formative years in the forest and bush areas of Nelson pulling logs. His nature was nothing short of comical, George would decide when he had been in around the front of the property long enough he would simply scale the cattle yards with no more than a two stride take off and come home. Once he had seen everyone he was more than happy to head back to his paddock to stay, till the next time anyway. This lovely horse was a pleasure to handle in every way and he really left his personality imprinted on his offspring, that wonderful nature combined with his athletic strength we are now seeing some grand results, with his oldest progeny are now 7 years old and really making a mark in the show-jumping and show hunter arenas around the country.
George will be very sadly missed at Tiraumea. We are looking forward to standing our young Stallion Bondi by Gentleman George out of Bonnie. He is maturing into, as finer and as kinder specimen that his father was.
