Great Success at HOY for Tiraumea Horses

TIRAUMEA DONEGAL – 7 yrs- had great success at HORSE OF THE YEAR 2010.  Kirsten Kelly rode him beautifully to scoop three placings.

5th in Welcome Hunter

5th in Amateur Show Hunter of the Year.

We are so proud of Donegal, he performed so consistently and  looked absolutely stunning.   Donegal will now go on with Kirsten to do some higher heights in show jumping as well as hunt this season with his owner Deidre Smith from Waitemata Hunt .   We look forward to seeing some impressive results from this talented young  sport horse.

Tornado cuts a path through the Tutaki Valley

A tornado cut a path through the valley on Tuesday.  No humans or animals were hurt thankfully but there has been a huge amount  of damage with many upturned 100+ year old trees.  Below are a line of uprooted trees along the ridge.

We have never had any thing like this in the area before and locals are pooling their resources to help in the cleanup.  The Tutaki Bridge was damaged by a huge tree downed across it.

We would like to thank everyone who has called and those that have offered  support and their assistance in the cleanup.  No one was hurt or lives lost thankfully.  No one in the area has ever seen the likes of this twister in our lifetimes and we are hoping never to see another.

On the up side, Kate has some fantastic new cross country jumps!.. there is always a silver  lining if you look hard enough.

Tiraumea Coachman First Dressage.

Tiraumea Coachman now 4 has competed in a junior dressage test with a very pleasing 66%.  This being his first outing his owners are delighted with how kindly and consistently he went.  Coachman is out of Zala by Tiraumea Flint. We look forward to following how  this lovely young horse develops.

Tiraumea Curious George leads South Island High Points

Rebecca Kerr and Tiraumea Curious George, wins Junior Rider class at  South Island Show Hunter competition held in Ashburton recently.

Tiraumea Curious George is a 6 year old by Gentleman George.  This is his first season competing  in Show Hunter and Show Jumping,  Rebecca said that he is very consistent and rarely unplaced. He is regularly competing 1.10 and they are looking to be jumping 1.20 by the end of the season.  She is presently leading the South Island Junior High Points series.  We wish her a most successful season.

Tiraumea Donegal Qualifies HOY Showhunter

7 year old Tiraumea Donegal qualifies for Horse of the Year in just  four rounds  at the Waitemata Showhunter competition on Saturday 16th Jan.  Jockeyed beautifully by Kirsten Kelly, Donegal jumped faultlessly to amass 22 points.  We are looking forward to seeing him perform at Horse of the Year in March.
