Zala
Zala is one of our top mares, she is a stunning 16.3 HH Zabalu mare. With excellent conformation passed onto her offspring she now has a string of stunning youngsters on the ground. All are beautifully put together and have been very competitive as youngsters in the show rings of both the North and South Island. We are now delighted to report that one of Zala’s offspring Tiraumea Coachman has gone offshore to Australia to continue his Eventing career.

“Tiraumea Bounty was Zala’s 2004 foal, a beautiful bright bay with four stockings and a blaze. Bounty is a full sister to Tiraumea Donegal (above) and is showing huge potential achieving great results as a 3 year old at the Horse and Pony in-hand show. Bounty is now excelling in jumping winning consistently at A&P level.
In 2005 Zala had a lovely grey colt foal Coachman by Tiraumea Flint. He is now 4 and just started competing in dressage with his very first test achieving the great result of 66%. We look forward to following Coachman as his dressage/eventing career develops.
Coachman has now been exported to Australia and is competing in NSW by Katelyn Simpson. They were named 2012 Most Promising Eventing Combination in New South Wales. What a great achievement Katelyn. We will be following these two with great interest.
2008 Zala was put to Ironman and in produced a very pretty filly called Lacey. We invite expressions of interest from competitive show-jumping homes.
2009 – We were absolutely delighted with this very upstanding colt, Gentleman George’s final foal. He is a full brother to Tiraumea Donegal (above). Tiraumea Grey Way will be retained by the stud as a future Stallion to continue this most successful jumping line. He has incredible bone, great conformation. This cross has produced exceptional type sports horses. We will keep this page updated on how this young colt develops.
Update on Grey Way –
Now 3 year old, Grey Way is 17.1+HH. Impressively athletic we are about to be start him under saddle. We hope to show-jump Grey Way and retain his entirety with the intention of breeding, he will be only available for AI.
2010 Filly Foal is Tiraumea Zara. This girl has those signature long legs that her siblings all have. She is a very tall elegant horse and will mature to be a grey and white. We expect her to mature to 17HH, she is close to that now as a two year old. Zara is sired by Ironman and is well suited to a competive jumping home.
2011 Colt Foal is Tiraumea Sportsman, sired by Flint, an identical colt to Tiraumea Coachman above. Beautiful expressive movement from Flints side and has the athleticism of his siblings.
